VPS Lakeshore Launches ‘Hridayasparsham’ Free Angiogram Initiative

Kochi: VPS Lakeshore Hospital has launched ‘Hridayasparsham’, a free angiogram initiative aimed at providing angiogram examinations to eligible patients who face financial difficulties in accessing the procedure. The initiative seeks to identify patients who are unable to undergo angiogram tests due to financial constraints and support them in receiving timely cardiac care. Launched in connection with World Heart Day, the initiative was inaugurated by Thrippunithura MLA Deepak Joy. He said the programme conveys an important message that financial difficulties should not put anyone’s life at risk and highlighted the importance of receiving timely treatment for cardiac conditions. He added that identifying eligible beneficiaries and providing them with free angiogram examinations represents a socially responsible initiative by VPS Lakeshore. Speaking at the programme, which was presided over by Managing Director S.K. Abdulla, he said the ‘Hridayasparsham’ initiative was conceived as part of VPS Lakeshore’s commitment to public welfare. Dr. V. Anand Kumar, Head of the Department of Cardiology, said the programme aims to provide free angiogram examinations to 50 eligible beneficiaries and help them move towards a healthier life. He noted that while cardiac diseases were previously more commonly associated with people in the 60–70 age group, they are now increasingly being seen among younger people, making initiatives such as ‘Hridayasparsham’ relevant to the present times. VPS Lakeshore Group CEO Abhishek Poduri and CEO Jayesh V. Nair also spoke at the event. Medical Superintendent Dr. Surtha Ram Vishnoi delivered the welcome address, while Dr. D.S.
