Kochi: Indian international racing driver Aditya Patnaik secured his first international victory. The 20-year-old Mumbai native claimed first place in the Sporting Class category during the third round of the Gold Vios Championship Malaysia, held at the renowned Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Aditya was awarded a prize money of 15,000 Malaysian Ringgit. Aditya has been showcasing an exceptional performance in his debut international car racing season. After securing third place in the first race of the third round, he clinched victory in the second race to secure top honors on the podium. Representing Rayo Racing, Aditya competed for former F1 driver Alex Yoong’s team, Axle Sports. Despite qualifying in fourth place due to rain and adverse weather conditions, Aditya made a thrilling comeback. With just one round remaining in the championship, he currently holds third place with 88 points. The 2023 FMSCI National Karting Champion had been sidelined for several months last year following a hand injury sustained in a car accident.
