Athirappilly : Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan inaugurated the newly launched ‘Sky Storm’ cable car ride at Silver Storm Park in Athirappilly, Thrissur. Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister emphasized that tourists must stay in Kerala for at least seven days to drive meaningful growth in the state’s tourism sector. He highlighted that private enterprises and large-scale projects are essential for Kerala’s comprehensive development, noting that the government has several initiatives lined up to encourage longer stays, including an Oceanarium in Kochi, an International Maritime Museum tracing history from the Portuguese era, a Film City, and a Cultural Park in Kozhikode dedicated to M. T. Vasudevan Nair.
The Chief Minister assured that innovative entrepreneurs like Silver Storm will receive full government support, commending Managing Director A. I. Shalimar for consistently introducing fresh concepts to attract visitors. Alongside the cable car, Minister for Industries P. K. Kunhalikutty inaugurated the ‘Jungle Storm Forest Village.’ Following the ceremony, the Chief Minister and accompanying dignitaries took a inaugural ride on the cable car. The event was attended by Ministers Roji M. John and O. J. Janeesh, MLA Saneesh Kumar Joseph, District Collector Shikha Surendran, Silver Storm Chairman P. K. Abdul Jaleel, and other prominent officials. Mementos were also presented by the Chief Minister to honor those who led the park’s IPO and long-serving employees.
